REMOTE INVIGILATION EXAMS
Computer based testing via Remote Invigilation (RI) enables a candidate to sit their Level 1 or level 2 exam on a computer in a secure, invigilated environment in their home where they are monitored via webcam, screen sharing technology, and a secondary recording device.

What you will need for the RI exam
- Your government issued photo ID.
- An up-to-date computer with a webcam
- A smartphone with the WSET specified Proctor Exam application installed
- A stable internet connection
- WSET compliant room layout (see video below)
Please note that The Spirit of Wine APP is ONLY responsible for the booking of the RI Exam and The Spirit of Wine is not available to support you during the system checks and Remote Invigilation Exams.
Any issues during the exam must be escalated via the chat function on the Proctor Exam application.

RI Exam conditions
- RI exams are only available in English.
- You will need to accept these RI conditions on the enrolment/booking form
- System checks must be performed as specified by WSET.
- The room the exam is sat in has special set up conditions that apply.

- The RI exams cannot be scheduled during these times -Everyday between 10:30 PM UK Time and 00:00 AM UK Time (midnight)
- You must determine the exact exam start time at the time of booking. UK time in the 24-hour format (i.e. 01:30-21:30hrs) is used.
- Please make sure you are ready around 30 minutes before the exam start time to set up the computer and exam room.
- Please note that no exams can be arranged for the period 22:00-01:29 UK time due to daily maintenance.
- UK Time: BST (British Summertime) starts the last Sunday in March thru the last Sunday in October; outside of this range UK Time is in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).

- If you cannot sit on the date indicated, you MUST inform TSOW when enrolling/booking the course.
- You then have 12 months from the start of the course to sit the Proctored exam.
- You may then choose any day of the year (except any of the Unavailable Dates listed HERE) in advance:
- RI exam orders are placed 21 working days before the exam date. If a date change is required once the exams order has been placed and the set exam date is to be cancelled, this request for cancellation must be made 9 working days prior to the original set date.
- Once in the 9-day window, all exams will be charged.
- There is a re-sit exam fee if a student does not attend the exam for any reason or fails the exam.
- An administration fee of fee of $80.0 will be charged for any changes to the RI exam date. Resit fees ($250.0) then will be required when new dates are requested.
